Newcastle United have agreed a blockbuster deal to sign Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade<\/strong>, with the 23-year-old German international set to undergo his medical after bidding farewell to his teammates. Standing at 6ft 6ins, Woltemade is one of Europe\u2019s most exciting young forwards, having scored 17 goals in 33 matches<\/strong> last season and finishing as top scorer at the U21 European Championship this summer with six goals in five games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reported package is worth between \u20ac85\u201390 million (\u00a373\u201378m)<\/strong> plus add-ons, making him one of the most expensive signings in Newcastle\u2019s history. He will become the latest addition to Eddie Howe\u2019s squad after the arrivals of Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey, Malick Thiaw and Aaron Ramsdale<\/strong>, as the Magpies prepare for another Champions League campaign against Europe\u2019s elite, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Isak Domino Effect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Woltemade\u2019s signing could have a major ripple effect \u2014 particularly for Liverpool<\/a>.
For months, the Reds have pursued Newcastle\u2019s star striker Alexander Isak<\/strong>, who has not trained or featured for the Magpies this season while making his desire to move to Anfield clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool saw an initial \u00a3110m offer<\/strong> rejected earlier in the summer, but sources suggest they are preparing a second bid worth around \u00a3120\u2013130m<\/strong>, potentially setting a new British transfer record. Personal terms with the 25-year-old Swede are already believed to be agreed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
